No-exam life insurance

Who qualifies, how the expedited process works, and what happens if standard underwriting applies.

Numerous carriers provide accelerated underwriting: applicants within specific age and benefit thresholds may qualify for approval based on the application, prescription records, driving history and other information, without a paramedical exam. Many decisions are issued within hours. This site shows whether each product needs an exam, might require one, or skips it.

What it changes

Accelerated underwriting is not the same as skipped underwriting. Carriers verify your statements, and policies based on wrong information can be challenged within the first two years. If the carrier's records indicate a concern, it may request an exam or bloodwork later; you'll have the option to proceed.

Who tends to qualify

Candidates are typically younger than 60, seeking coverage within the carrier's underwriting threshold, with no significant health complications and a tobacco-free history for one year or longer. Some carriers will substitute recent lab results from a doctor's visit in place of a paramedical exam.

An exam, if required, is ordinarily a 20- to 30-minute appointment with a paramedical professional at your residence or workplace in the Santee area, provided at no charge. For health-conscious applicants, results frequently result in a higher rate tier, making the exam a positive rather than a burden.
